Library and Learning Centre

LIBRARY

Our open plan, well-resourced Library is a learning space that students, teachers and parents can enjoy. It is a light-filled, flexible learning space overlooking the school oval. Contemporary and comfortable furniture encourages group learning and relaxation. The Library is regularly used for a range of Year Level or multi class activities.

Classes attend weekly Library lessons where they can borrow and the Library is also open to all students Monday to Friday at lunch recess.

Adjoining the Library is the Community Room which is designed for parent use and as a meeting space.

LEARNING CENTRE

Adjoining the Library is the Learning Centre. This flexible learning space is used by the Year 5 and 6 students as an open learning area. Rooms 13, 14 and 15 are connected by glass sliding doors which enable simultaneous instruction between the classes when open as well as separate learning areas when closed.

The central ‘breakout space’ comprises tables and chairs that are utilised during learning time for group work. It is also available to the students at any time as a quieter working area free from distraction. The flexible learning space enables co-teaching of the students by the Year 5 and 6 teachers and is also used as a meeting space for students with Leadership roles.
